Maddy and her Horse

This is an 8-page comic I drew for the Sydney Comics Guild's 2012 anthology - theme: 'Fantasy'. I've created a separate page for it which can be viewed here. It's based on one of my housemates that I lived with last year. She owned a bunny and also suffers from depression. While founded on real people and circumstances the comic is a fictitious account of a morning in her life and the mental battle she may have gone through.

100 x 100 exhibition.

I did a couple of portraits recently for the FEVA 100 x 100 exhibition. The first is titled '18 months', and is of my nephew Sampson. I did one of him last year too, when he was only 6 months old. How he has changed! The second is of his dad, and is titled '25 frames a second'.

T-Shirts!

My Guimelpods are now on clothing! I sold some at a market stall a few weeks ago and am planning to have other stalls... in the near future... when I get my act together!

What do you worship?

Many people will associate 'worship' with a religious context, however these illustrations look at the idea on a broader level - namely as something that one may desire or pursue in one's life above all other things.

T-shirt mock-up

Thank you to everyone who has looked at and done my Guimelpod quiz! From that, it seems that Minet and Evei (numbers 5a and 7) were by the far the most popular. I've adapted the original images to vector art for printing and have done some t-shirt mock-ups to have an idea of what they may look like. Please comment and let me know what you think or any helpful suggestions you may have :)

Guimelpod T-shirt Quiz

On the day Ned was wed,

he got chased by a Fed,

was almost shot in the head, 

but he dodged the lead. 

It filled him with dread, 

so he took a med 

and went to bed with his ted 

after eating some bread. 

He awoke to the tread 

of the man named Fred 

who wanted him dead, 

but he punched him instead. 

Fred bled and was red. 

Nothing was said. 

Our man Ned fled to the shed, 

leaving no shred nor thread 

for the Fed to have read.

 I'm developing a series of cute, cyborg bunny-like creatures... which may be named after letters of the hebrew alphabet. The lower one is the original idea that I've had for ages... and am now planning to expand his family.

The sky is grey and dreary, I feel like eating cake.

The day is cold, rain is coming, I feel like eating cake.

Cake, cake, sweet and crumbly, 

Honey brown and very yummy.

Lemon syrup, chocolate slice, 

Apple brandy, oh how nice!

I feel like eating cake.

A cup of tea is in my hand, I feel like eating cake.

Toast won't do, not this time, I feel like eating cake.

In the kitchen will I bake...

Spicy biscuits, berry tart, 

Goods that warm my toes and heart.

I feel like eating cake.

I pour the batter in the tin, I feel like eating cake.

I'm tired and I want to munch, I feel like eating cake.

Cake is good and oh so yummy...

Hot and soft, warm and crumbly.

Butterscotch muffin, banana bread,

Fills me up as I snuggle in bed,

...and enjoy my cake.
